These Eastern Khanty texts were recorded in 2007 in the
upper and lower Vasyugan river areas, and in the Alexandrovo Ob’ river communities. The texts were
narrated by the male and female Vasyugan Khanty and Alexandrovo Khanty speakers to other
Khanty speakers and to the researchers,
who also spoke limited Khanty and offered
occasional interjections to the narration. The recording of the text was transcribed
and translated into Russian in the field. English morphological glosses and
free translation were added at a later time. The corpus of the transcribed Mode
i)
– a 1-tier notation of the Eastern Khanty
vernacular in the Mode ii) - a unified
3-tier notation: Eastern Khanty vernacular in the The text files (Text File with
transcript) are represented here are in the 3-tier notation Mode ii) accessible in Adobe.PDF format to allow
for a degree of cross-platform consistency. In the original database, the
files are also represented in MSWord. Some of the texts are also converted into
ELAN multimedia format combining the video, audio and text media. The information about the speakers and locations can be viewed on a separate page by clicking on the corresponding links (Speaker info) and (Location info). The audio recording of the text can be
