Grandfather was a shaman. Spoke Khanty since birth, Russian — since
early childhood. Studied at primary school for 3 years. Husband –
reportedly a Ket (diseased 1971), but Khanty was the language of
communication. Spoke Khanty with the elder son, Russian with the younger
daughter. Worked as a librarian, club administrator, keeper. Lived in
Pyrchino, Alexandrovskoye, Strezhevoy, Staro-Akasymsk, Lukashkin Yar (mixed
Khanty-Russian environment) along Ob'
river. Ultimately deaf. Speaks Khanty when asked. Speaks Russian with
family members when prompted by writing.
