Developing Socially Responsible elites and the Challenges for Higher Education

The experience of many countries indicates that democratic development and larger modernization depends to a significant degree on the level of elite preparedness: their know-how, capacity to present coherent ideas for necessary changes and ability to convince citizens of their ideas.

    In April 2006, Gašo Kneževic will be visiting Corvinus University Budapest in connection with his IPF fellowship research.

    March 2006 sees Cristina Nicolescu begins a three month fellowship at Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC.

    June 2005: Pro Vobis, the National Volunteer Centre that Cristina Nicolescu is the Executive Director of, launched its new website provobis.ro

    Aug 2005: The Serbian Parliament accepted The Higher Education Act, which draws on Bologna Declaration to a considerable extent. Gaso Knezevic was a key figure in the drafting and lobbying of this Act.
