Sophie Howlett is Dean of Special and Extension Programmes of Central European University and a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Gender Studies, CEU. During the 2005/06 year, she is also an OSI International Policy Fellow studying the implementation of the Bologna Process in a number of key fSU countries. Sophie has been working in the field of higher education development with the fSU and adjacent European regions for the past 11 years, and in this regard lived in Ukraine and Russia before moving to Budapest.
Sophie's 'other career' is in literature and related fields. In particular, she teaches renaissance literature and contemporary literary theory. Before becoming involved with higher education issues, she was a full-time lecturer in the UK and has since been teaching part-time in Budapest and throughout our region. |
