2003 - 2004:
Strengthening tobacco policymaking capacity in Hungary
The objectives of the project are to review existing Hungarian tobacco control policies and measures for their implementation; monitor and evaluate their impact; compare Hungarian achievements in tobacco control with the best international practice; identify pro- and anti-tobacco control stakeholders involved in or influential in tobacco policy development; identify the main directions of future tobacco policy development and devise further tobacco policy alternatives and supportive background evidence and other information to promote tobacco policy advocacy by improving communication and collaboration with the media, decision-makers and professionals working in tobacco control; and produce a policy paper for the Ministry of Health, Social and Family Affairs and the Parliamentary Committees on Health and Social Affairs.
