Learning from classrooms: A study of educational policies in elementary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The objectives of the project are to examine the learning and teaching experience in the classrooms of Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) elementary schools with a special focus on the presence and promotion of ethnic political agendas/values and national ideologies of three ethnic majority groups in BiH; analyze whether and how civic values, cultural tolerance, and respect for "cultural" differences and diversity in BiH are being promoted through primary education; develop suggestions on how to improve the implementation of sound educational policies in BiH; and write a research and policy paper for international and local human rights agencies (such as OSCE, OHR, UNICEF, and UNOHCHR) and local authorities and ministries regarding education and human rights.
