2004 - 2005: Migrant mobility in Central and Eastern Europe: An analysis of the practices of the International Organization for Migration
The objectives of the project are to investigate the role of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in 'managing' undocumented migration in the CEE region; compile a comprehensive map of related IOM projects; assess the correspondence (or lack thereof) between immigration policies of the European Union, Schengen border regime, and IOM in CEE; develop recommendations for IOM's regional field offices in advancing migrants' rights; and write research and policy papers for the Governing Council of the IOM, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), academic community, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other civil society organizations promoting migrants' rights.
