2004 - 2005: Land reform and economic development in rural Kazakhstan
The objectives of the project are to review the process of land reform in Kazakhstan; assess the possible impact of the introduction of private land ownership on the economic development of rural areas and the expected benefits for the rural population; prepare alternative policy scenarios; and write a research and policy paper for the relevant bodies of the Government of Kazakhstan working with the Asian Development Bank in lending to rural sectors through technical assistance projects.
