2002 - 2003: Prostitution in the Baltic States
The objectives of the project are to map the situation of prostitution in the Baltic States; collect existing and new data by interviewing experts in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and elaborating and analyzing questionnaires for sex workers; conduct a comparative analysis of the situation of sex workers in the last decade in the region with special regard for human rights, gender issues, the trafficking of women, the HIV epidemic and legal issues; and elaborate feasible recommendations for action in a policy paper for relevant Baltic policymakers.
