2004 - 2005: LGBT anti-discrimination and equal treatment policies
The objectives of the project are to describe the development of anti-discrimination and equal treatment policymaking in Hungary as far as sexual orientation is concerned; give an accurate record of the role of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) representing sexual minority interests, as well as various state institutions and political parties, in assisting the process of harmonizing sexual orientation-related human rights legislation in line with EU membership; draft recommendations for the mentioned agencies; and write a research and policy paper on the issue of equal treatment policies for the NGOs representing sexual minorities interests, the Equal Treatment Governmental Office, and the four Hungarian parliamentary parties.
