2004 - 2005: Primary healthcare in Georgia and the harmonization of international donor assistance: Hopes, expectations and realities
The objectives of the project are to identify provisions for the effective coordination of international development assistance targeting the reform of the Georgian health sector; explore the regulations of donor agencies (World Bank, DFID, EU Tacis, USAID) and government institutions (Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs) with regard to aid harmonization; identify the mechanisms used for aid coordination and observe their development from the initial stage throughout the implementation of the Primary Health Care project; evaluate the impact of these arrangements on project successes; and write a research and policy paper for the above mentioned donor agencies and government institutions in Georgia.
