2003 - 2004: AIDS education at school: Raising awareness and outlining a draft curriculum
The objectives of the project are to review and analyze effective HIV/AIDS education curricula developed and used in a number of European countries; assess the broad-based Life Skills education program in terms of how it has been received by students, teachers, school administration, and parents; develop an outline for a draft curriculum for a school-based HIV/AIDS pilot program as an integral part of a more comprehensive school health education program; and write research paper and policy paper in the field of Primary and Secondary Education Reform Policy and Public Health Policy for the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, and UNICEF.

2002 - 2003: HIV/AIDS/STI programs in the Armenian school curriculum
The main objectives of this project are to investigate the possibility of integrating an HIV/AIDS/STI education program into Armenian schools; identify the current status of Armenian school health education policies and programs; analyze institutional, policymaking, cultural, and societal barriers to the implementation of school-based AIDS education; conduct qualitative and quantitative studies including in-depth interviews, focus groups and surveys among policymakers, parents and teachers; organize seminars and a roundtable discussion with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Ministry of Health (MOH), the National Institute of Health, UNAIDS and other agencies to discuss the issue; write articles for local and international audiences to attract their attention to the issue; and prepare a research and policy paper with recommendations for MOE and MOH.
