2003 - 2004: Gender and party politics
The objectives of the project are to conduct research on women's role in political parties in Kazakhstan as an important channel for the promotion of women to decision-making levels; study relevant global experience and its critical rethinking and application in the CIS countries; attract attention of all party functionaries to the problem of women's promotion to decision-making positions; strengthen women's involvement political parties and help increase the leadership potential of women politicians during the upcoming elections; work with political parties and movements on increasing the quantity and quality of women's representation in party managerial bodies, party lists of nominees for elections; and write research and policy paper for political parties and local representative bodies.

2001 - 2002: Participation of women in Kazakh democratic institutions
The objectives of the project are to compare gender policies in countries with different political regimes; design recommendations for the government of Kazakhstan on how to increase the number of women in decision-making positions, particularly in Parliament and representative bodies of government at the national and local levels; promote the findings and how they may be used among rural women leaders; and develop a policy paper in the field of gender policy.
