2003 - 2004: Revisiting pharmaceutical policy in Hungary
The aims of the project are to examine the formulation of Hungarian pharmaceutical policy including pricing, reimbursement and access regarding medicines; examine the process of Hungarian pharmaceutical policymaking; identify the main actors in the policy process since the foundation of the Health Insurance Fund in Hungary; examine the effects of cost-containment policies on access to medicines in previous years; review the evidences regarding best practices in international pharmaceutical policy initiatives and their applicability in Hungarian context; and produce a policy paper for the Hungarian Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Health and intergovernmental organizations responsible for pharmaceutical policymaking in Hungary.
