Intellectual property and the internet in Central Asia
The objectives of the project are to analyze the possibility of utilizing open source software to promote intellectual property rights and overcome information and communication technology (ICT) piracy levels in the Central Asian region; devise recommendations for ministries of communication, parliaments, civil society and academic communities in Central Asian countries; develop policy recommendations promoting ICT as an enabler of development; and write a research and policy paper for ICT policy regulators in each country such as the Ministry of Communication, ICT Panel, and Internet stakeholders in the region.
