2003 - 2004:
Minority politics, mass media and civil society in transition countries: Case studies of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland
The objectives of the project are to compare and evaluate research on media and minorities conducted in Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia; enhance professional training and multicultural awareness of journalists in Lithuania and the region by preparing a university course entitled Mass Media, Minorities and Civil Society in Eastern Europe; continue extensive advocacy efforts by organizing a seminar on minority groups and the media in Eastern Europe; and write research and policy paper for the Department of National Minorities and Émigrés, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ethics Commission of Journalists and Publishers, and minority organizations.

2001 - 2002: Minority representation in the Lithuanian mass media
The objectives of the project are to examine representations of both ethnic and sexual minority groups in Lithuanian mass media, identify major trends in media practice that affect how minorities are portrayed in the media, devise recommendations for improved media representation of minority groups, prepare a course and monograph on mass media and minorities in Lithuania, and develop a policy paper in the field of media policy.
