Fellow project
2003 - 2004:
Social consequences of World Bank, International Labor Organization and European Union policy approaches
The objectives of the project are to analyze the impact of the official and informal positions of selected international organizations on policy outcomes in Lithuania and other EU accession countries with a special focus on public investment management and international aid distribution; identify the role of objective policymaking versus the willingness to accept international recommendations in the policy process in accession countries; examine the interplay of national policymaking actors' interests as a factor strengthening possibilities for international institutions to influence national political arenas; illustrate these presumptions with sufficient empirical evidence; develop policy recommendations on how an accession country can maximize its policy interests when dealing with international organizations; and write a research and policy paper for the Lithuanian Parliament, Cabinet Office, relevant ministries, and county governments and municipalities.
