Resource curse in Nigeria: perception and challenges
The objectives of the project are to examine public perception of attempts by the Nigerian government to combat the resource curse in Nigeria since 1999; identify institutional bottlenecks in combating the resource curse and recommend ways of reforming them utilizing pressure from civic and international groups; identify the limitations of civil society in ensuring greater transparency and accountability in government despite its initiatives since 1999 and develop a methodology for ensuring a more effective civil society/government partnership in ensuring a greater transparency and accountability in government; and write policy study and research paper for informed civil society organizations, ministries, departments and agencies including the Ministry of Finance and the Budget Office of the Government in Nigeria.
