The estimated duration of this project is 12 months. Phase
1 will consist of desk research to collect the appropriate literature,
and prepare the interview questionnaires. Phase 2 will involve collecting
quantitative data regarding the activities of key international organisations
in Albania. During phase 3 a limited number of pilot interviews will be
conducted to reveal any unidentified issues. This will lead to the completion
of interview questionnaires. In phase 4, targeted interviewees will be
asked for their qualitative perceptions of the effects of different kinds
of accounting institutions, and the difficulties of gaining their acceptance
and proper
functioning within the existing context of Albania. Phase 5
will involve analysis of the research findings and the compilation of a
policy paper for the Open Society Institute.
