Biography

born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1964
1986 graduated with honors from the Leningrad (now St.P.) State University with a degree in psychology
1986-1988 commanded an artillery battery in the Soviet Army (no URL to that organization)
1988-1989 lecturer at the Leningrad Institute of Culture, now St. Petersburg University of Culture and Arts
1989-1996 graduate student of sociology at the University of Michigan, Ph.D. degree in 1996
1997 research fellow at the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Sociology
since 1998 has taught at the European University at St. Petersburg
