July –
August 2005: Initial research on ENP
- Developing
the analytical framework of the policy paper.
- Initial
work on the conflict resolution dimension of ENP: analysis of existing
EU and Member states documents and overview of existing literature.
- The
first chapter of the research paper will be written. Some 15 pages on
the state of ENP and EU views of how the ENP should contribute to
conflict resolution in EU neighbourhood. A discussion of the ENP
framework and its gaps and what should be done about it.
October 2005 –
February 2006: Research on the Conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
- Work
at CEPS on the conflict resolution dimension of ENP.

on EU policies towards the conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Interviews
with EU officials on ENP and the two conflicts.

January
2006
– field research in Georgia (Tbilisi, Abkhazia and South Ossetia). Interview with officials and
experts dealing with the conflict resolution processes.

2006
– field research in Moscow. Research on the structure of
Russian interests in these conflicts, as well as the EU-Russia dialogue
on the
two conflicts.

Writing
the research paper.
March – April 2006:
Writing the paper.
- Finishing
the research paper.
- Working
on the policy paper and the policy recommendations.
April –
May 2006: Advocacy
- Receiving
feed back on the policy paper and updating it.
- Staring
to disseminate policy findings through meetings with relevant
officials.
- Short
publications (newspaper articles format) summarising the findings of
the paper and drawing wider attention to the published policy paper.
