Don Hindle




Don Hindle has a PhD in applied mathematics and is Professor in the Medical Faculty, University of New South Wales in Sydney Australia. He teaches health policy, health management, and health economics and specializes in research and project work in the area of organisational and clinical cultures, and the management of clinical work.


In Australia, he has advised the State and Federal governments on health care financing, resource allocation, and clinical teamwork. He has advised all major insurance and care provider agencies on costing, contracting, information systems, and clinical production control. He is an internationally recognised expert on the use of clinical pathways for cost and health outcome management.


In recent years, he has advised agencies in many countries including the USA, China, India, Slovenia, the UK, Japan, The Philippines, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Croatia, Mongolia, and New Zealand.


He has worked on palliative care issues in several countries. His main involvement has been in Australia, where he helped to develop integrated financial and care management processes and associated care classification systems.
