She is the editor in chief of Areen,
an Estonian weekly newspaper of culture,
and a lecturer at Tartu University, in the department
of Communications and Media.
Her main research interest is construction of gender
in media.

She is a research fellow at ERCOMER,
affiliated with Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
Her research includes comparative analysis of European
media coverage and media policies'
role in promoting acceptance of cultural diversity, and
she was the editor of the report
"Racism and cultural diversity in the Mass Media. An
overview of research and examples
of good practice in the 15 EU Member States", Vienna,
2002.
