Public and Personal Involvement in Corruption Scandals in Bulgaria

The aim of this project is to investigate the mechanism of public scandals in Bulgaria and the way various social groups become involved.

It will analyze why some issues are more susceptible, than others in attracting the public attention and whether corruption scandals can provoke civic action. In this way, it will help bridge the gap between the impressive amount of publicly available data on corruption and the lack of resulting action.
It will offer an explanation why information about corruption practices often fails to impact confidence levels among politicians and institutions, and will devise suggestions for efficient policies.
