The Carpathian Euro-region as a geographical, economic, social
and political entity
The
lecture presented the Carpathian Euro-region as a geographical, economical,
social and political entity. The lecturer exposed the main characteristics of
the region, which create favorable conditions for integrating its sub-units
into a unitary structure. The lecture offered a general
outlook of fundamental concepts and framework for understanding and
interpretation of cross-border co-operation. After the presentation the discussion focused
on the advantages and opportunities emerging from such approach and on its
potential implications concerning institution building in the concerned
geographical area.
