LECTURE 7
The Carpathian Euro-region
as a geographical, economic, social and political entity
The presentation of this case study was the starting point of raising
the major problems to be discussed: to what extent is regional cross-border cooperation
possible between states which are, on the one hand, so diverse economically,
politically and culturally, and, on the other hand, are divided by state
borders? What are the obstacles, but also the opportunities emerging from such
situation? How things are likely to evolve in the future? What would be the
preferred model of cooperation for the countries concerned in the forthcoming
years?
