LECTURE 2 Nation-states,
globalization, regional development
The design of problem centered discussions during this class focused on the
challenges to the traditional concept of nation state posed on the one hand by globalization and on the other hand by regionalization. The major aim was to
develop critical thinking of students and their ability to use concepts in a
creative way, taking into account the necessity to permanently revise and
redefine concepts, in order to adjust them to the theoretical and
practical-political requirements derivable from the changing social context.
