I am based at the Department of Siberian Indigenous Languages of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, in Tomsk, Russia.

I graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages at Tomsk State Pedagogical University, in Tomsk, Russia in 1996, majoring in Education (FL teaching), Linguistics and Germanic Languages. 

I received my first graduate degree of "Kandidat Nauk" in Philology from Mari El State University, in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia in 2002. My thesis was dedicated to functional description of Eastern Khanty non-finite verb forms.

My Ph.D. in Linguistics at the Department of Linguistics of Rice University, in Houston Texas, USA was defended in 2006. The thesis work was entitled "A Grammar of Eastern Khanty".

I am currently an INTAS YSF 2006 postdoctoral fellow researching the methods of studying language variation and change exemplified by the western Siberian linguistic area.

My primary scholarly interests are research in languages and cultures of Siberia, linguistic diversity, language documentation, language variation and change, functional approaches to the study of syntax and semantics, information structure, corpus linguistics.
