Why Democratic Governance?
Many definitions of Democratic Governance continue to roam in the development world, the Middle East is being hit with diverse governance concepts and various pressures to reform, the Islamic and Arabic culture is rich with similar concepts and different implementation tools which adds another voice in governance that lacks development and influence.
Amid a western ideology and a middle eastern identity, there has been a tendency to resist western values as a result of a huge communication and political gap. This website breaks down some of the ideas I have around this issue, my definition of Democratic Governance, the Islamic Perception of it and the priorities in the different Middle Eastern region. It contains information on work that I am developing in the area of Democratic Governance in the Middle East.
Most of the work displayed is supported by the Open Society Institute, IPF. Policy papers will hopefully be developed by the end of this year.
