Managing Migrants’ Mobility in Central and Eastern Europe:
A Policy Analysis of International Organization for Migration’s Practices

Abstract:

The objectives of the project are to investigate the role of IOM in managing undocumented migration in Western Balkans and Western Newly Independent States (WNIS); compile a comprehensive map of related IOM projects; assess a correspondence between EU’s immigration policy, Schengen’s border regime, and IOM’s Programmes in Western Balkans and WNIS; develop recommendations for IOM’s regional field offices in advancing migrants’ rights; write one research and a policy brief targeting the European Commission and the Governing Council of the IOM; and a second policy paper for Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and other civil society organizations promoting migrants’ rights.
