Few Words
My name is Paruyr Amirjanyan. I work at the International Center for Human Development, a well known public policy think-tank in Armenia which deals with variety of issues, aiming to bring developments and improvements in the socio-economic life of the country. One of the activities the Center and I have pursued is promotion of healthy life-style and struggle against smoking threat. We specifically deal with the economic and policy-related aspects of the problem.

Armenia has registered very good achievements in the sphere of tobacco control. These achievements are due to the hard work of many organizations, which have created a strong network and effective framework for co-operation. The Open Society Institute has a major role in supporting such activities, and what we appreciate the most, is the fact that the OSI provides relevant policy advocacy skills through its international Policy Fellowship. Such skills are applicable in any aspect of our professional activities, and this is why I applied for continuing the International Policy Fellowship.
